Put two quotes on the same footing.
Bring your written proposals. Compare their annualized cost, record coverage differences and check the trade-off behind a higher deductible.
Start with equivalent coverage
Ask each provider to use the same drivers, property, coverage limits and effective date. Record different deductibles or optional benefits instead of treating a lower price as equivalent protection. A quote may change after underwriting checks; confirm what has already been verified.
These tools organize quotes you already have. They do not obtain live insurer prices or determine whether a loss is covered. To begin a separate partner search, use our insurance request form.
Your quote comparison worksheet
Enter figures from two written proposals. Include fees payable over the quoted term. Keep coverage limits and exclusions visible beside the price.
Annualized amount = (term premium + term fees) ÷ months × 12. This is a comparison calculation, not a renewal price, quote, coverage recommendation or ranking of insurers. The deductible is recorded for review; it is not added to annual premium.
Deductible savings calculator
Find how many years of premium savings would equal the extra deductible on one covered claim. Use otherwise equivalent proposals for the same type of deductible.
The higher deductible must exceed the lower one, and annual savings must be positive. Formula: (higher − lower deductible) ÷ annual savings. This does not predict claims, inflation, renewal changes or multiple losses. Consider whether you could pay the higher amount tomorrow.
See a hypothetical worked example
A $500 increase in deductible with $100 of annual savings equals five years of savings. One covered claim could require the extra $500 immediately. These are made-up figures for arithmetic, not current insurance prices.
These tools calculate in your browser. Worksheet entries are not submitted to this website or an insurance partner. They disappear when the page is reloaded. Avoid entering account numbers, medical details or other sensitive information.
Questions to settle before choosing
- Are the named insured, property details and effective dates correct?
- Are the liability limits, valuation method and optional benefits equivalent?
- Which deductibles apply to different kinds of loss?
- Do discounts depend on automatic payment, another policy or a monitoring program?
- Who issues the policy, and who handles claims and cancellations?
Keep the complete proposals and obtain written answers. Do not cancel existing coverage until the replacement is confirmed in force.
