Corrections policy
We want every guide on this site to be accurate. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
How to report an error
Email [email protected] with the subject "Correction request," or use the contact form. Please include:
- The page address (URL) and the sentence or table in question.
- What you believe is wrong and what it should say.
- A supporting source if you have one, such as a statute, regulation, regulator publication or policy form.
Please do not send policy documents, claim files, Social Security numbers, medical information or other sensitive personal data.
What happens next
- K.R. reviews every correction request against the cited sources and the primary sources the guide relies on.
- If the guide is wrong or out of date, we correct it and update its "Last reviewed" date.
- For a substantive correction, one that changes a fact, figure, legal requirement or conclusion, we add a dated note at the end of the guide describing what changed.
- Typos, broken links and wording changes that do not change meaning are fixed without a note.
- If we conclude the guide is accurate, we reply with our reasoning when a reply address is provided.
Updates are not corrections
Insurance rules and market data change. When we update a guide because a law changed or a newer data report was published, we update the figures and the "Last reviewed" date; we add a correction note only when the earlier version was wrong at the time it was published.
Corrections log
No substantive corrections have been published since the October 2026 rewrite of the guide library. Future corrections will be listed here with the date, the guide and a short description.
